The Columbia Linguistics Society is a group of Columbia University students dedicated to studying language and its role in society. We meet biweekly in the cozy environs of the Columbia Cottage to discuss linguistics, languages, travel adventures, philosophy, psychology, and anything else that comes to mind.
The society hosts speakers from Columbia and other universities to give talks on a wide range of linguistic issues. These events are free and held in an open forum format.
Finally, we are working to get an official full Linguistics major approved by the Columbia University administration. We are passionate about what we do, and believe that it merits more than a special concentration. For more on the Linguistics program at Columbia, please see our Frequently Asked Questions page.
Please send me announcements on any linguistics events on campus.

Hi,
I’m the director of the TESOL and Applied Linguistics Programs at Teachers College, CU. I’ve been a faculty member at Columbia for 15 years and just bumped into this site.
We have several events during the year that might interest your members and I see that several of your events would also interest students and faculty in our programs at TC.
Is there someone on this list to whom I can seen our events announcements?
Jim
